Miranda,
shown above, along with the poignant conversion work and color
composition, shows a universal moment--where, for whatever reason or
circumstances may have befallen us, we could not feel anymore
alone in the universe if we tried. The use of snow, an isolated
cemetary spot in what must surely be the cold of winter, our
protagonist is vulnerable and unprotected against the elements and
whatever present sadness she's enduring. Jessica has made Miranda an
analogy for a moment
common to the human condition and experienced by us all at some time in our lives, and with the piece she amply demonstrates that art
in miniature
can convey themes and messages just as powerfully as artworks
twenty times
in size. Jessica is a Golden Demon winning artist living in Virginia in
the United States. |
