I have painted many miniatures of my own, but as you can see,
I am a better patron of the art than I am a painter. Yet, painting one's
own little creation of art--no matter how modest--is a satisfying and
enjoyable way of relaxing away one of those uncommon free weekends.
I think the best piece I ever painted is my Ral Partha Sea Dragon which
can be seen here: Kathryn's
Ral Partha Sea Dragon. Other than that, I have a few
others posted on Cool Mini
or Not, where I post under the name of Queen of Credits.
(Ah,
come on, folks, give the link a 'click', find one you like and give it an "8" !).
But I should probably not try to paint
miniatures for a living. If you do the math, it is easy to see
that even the best miniature painters are not in the hobby for the
money. They make less than minimum wage once you calculate the number
of hours they spend in creating a miniature. And for the average
hobbiest and painter, there is no profit at all. Large or
modest talent, I think we paint because we love the hobby and the
comraderie of the miniature community. I, too, should
keep my "day job" as the last time I
looked my CMON score was , and falling. Yikes !
Ah, who care about the ratings! (LOL !). Here are
a few of
my favorites anyway: |
